Snapchat tests Dress Up stickers for more engaging eCommerce
Snapchat is making it even easier for retailers and marketers to showcase their products in a more engaging way by adding product stickers for Snaps.
The move is part of the platform’s wider expansion into eCommerce.
It previously announced Dress Up – a feature that let users try-on clothes and accessories.
Dress Up offers some of the functionality of the Shop tab but it has a more dominant focus on AR and displays digital products.
It’s a cool tool to see how actual products would look on users.
Some Snapchat users have now been given access to product stickers in the app. These include digital items that can be overlaid on top of content such as photos.
Product stickers are already sorted by brands which means users can simply click on the brand they wish to try on and then select a specific product.
Snap said that the feature was only available to some users right now, but would be rolled out more widely soon. Users will be able to locate Dress Up Stickers in the Sticker Picker. With 250 million of its users already engaging with AR elements on the app each day, Dress Up stickers could be a useful tool for brands and retailers to promote their products. This would put Snapchat on par with other social heavyweights such as Instagram and TikTok which are also heavily pushing into eCommerce.
