Asked to name the ten biggest global ecommerce platforms, most people would suggest Amazon or eBay, perhaps the Japanese giant Rakuten or maybe a big Chinese name like TMall, JD or Pinduoduo. They probably would not think of a brewer.
Remarkably, though, when ranked by gross merchandise volume — the total sales value of goods sold through a particular marketplace — the world’s tenth largest player is now a platform called BEES.
