Three-day ecommerce and digital marketing training for women entrepreneurs

KATHMANDU, June 29: A three-day e-commerce and digital marketing training organized in Kathmandu to enhance capacity of women entrepreneurs concluded on Wednesday.

The training organized by South Asian Women Development Forum (SAWDF) in partnership with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (UNESCAP) was held from Monday in Kathmandu. The main objective of the training was to build the capacity and skills of women entrepreneurs in e-commerce and digital marketing.

The training aimed at providing ecommerce education to women entrepreneurs and equipping them with the right skills for their business growth and empowering them through digitization.

Addressing the inaugural session of the training, Secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Baikuntha Aryal said women should exploit the opportunities provided by the latest information technology to promote their entrepreneurship

“The ministry always stands ready to cooperate and facilitate issues related to information and technology that are necessary for women entrepreneurs,” he said. “We will take necessary initiatives to provide legal and policy level assistance to women entrepreneurs to help them connect with information technology.”

Secretary Aryal also lauded the initiative taken by SAWDF to provide training on information technology to women entrepreneurs. The training program was organized in partnership with the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal, Federation of Nepali Cottage and Small Industries, Manushi Federation of Business and Professional Women Nepal.

Addressing the function, President of SAWDF Pramila Rijal said the training was organized to impart knowledge and skills on information and technology to women entrepreneurs as COVID-19 pandemic has made it absolutely essential to promote businesses. “This is the age of information technology,” she said. “The training is organized to help equip women entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge of information technology to enhance their capacity to promote their entrepreneurships.”
