eCommerce Unicorn Wayflyer Hires US Head of Sales to Lead Major Expansion

eCommerce growth platform, Wayflyer , today announces the appointment of Rebecca Weizenecker as Head of US Sales. Rebecca joins from Atlanta-based invoice payment fintech, Now, where she was Vice President Sales and Marketing. She also spent several years as Head of Direct Sales at Kabbage , the American Express owned data and technology company, providing small businesses with access to capital. Further roles include senior sales and marketing positions at FundThrough and Sequr.

Rebecca’s deep expertise in small business funding will be put to good use at Wayflyer as she is tasked with growing the breadth and capabilities of the sales function to reach more eCommerce businesses across the US. She will oversee the recruitment of 100+ new sales roles while ensuring the quality of the approach, training, and breadth of profile across the team is unparalleled. Initiatives include a best-in-class onboarding and education schedule with self-guided and interactive master classes, a peer-to-peer buddy system, free catered lunch in the office and a fully flexible hybrid working model.

Having opened in June 2021, Wayflyer’s Atlanta office has flourished. Overall headcount has risen from six to over 30 sales and support staff. In line with Rebecca’s ambition to build a truly diverse team, recent recruits represent a 60/40 male/female split and this mission is set to continue with Rebecca evaluating potential partnerships to further promote the diversity and inclusion agenda within the sales function. A further 50+ roles are available across Wayflyer’s analytics, finance, and customer support teams.

Currently over 50% of Wayflyer’s customer base operates in the U.S, and over $400m in funding has been provided to US businesses.
