Founder of fast-growing ecommerce firm to speak at Insider event

James Hyde The co-founder of a fast-growing ecommerce business will speak about how it has disrupted the logistics sector at an Insider event.

James Hyde set up James & James Fulfilment in 2010 with James Strachan and they grew the business profitably with no outside investment until 2020 when they sold a minority stake for £11m to private equity firm LDC.

The Northampton-based company works with small and medium-sized retailers who want to grow their ecommerce business and sell internationally. It specialises in handling and delivering orders from distribution centres in Britain, Europe and the US and has won two Queen’s Awards for enterprise and international trade.

The group’s revenue grew by 90 per cent in 2020 to £31m and 24 per cent to £38.5m in 2021.

Hyde and Strachan, both Cambridge graduates, founded the business after encountering difficulties when selling honey online. They used digital innovation to improve efficiencies in e-commerce fulfilment.

“We’ve earned a reputation for doing things differently, creating change for the better, and delivering real results,” said Hyde.

Hyde will speak at Insider’s Becoming Part of the East Midlands’ Growth Breakfast on 8 July at the Priest House Hotel, Castle Donington. It will look at the huge potential for businesses in the East Midlands, hearing from major figures from different sectors.

The other speakers are; Mark Evans, vice-president, UK Hubs and Gateways, DHL Express Clare James, managing director, East Midlands Airport Jon Jorgensen, chief sales officer, Access Group Helen Donnellan, pro vice-chancellor – regional business and innovation, De Montfort University To register for this free event, click here .
