Team Liquid’s ecommerce store targets Brazilian fans with local merch
Team Liquid has launched a new Brazilian ecommerce store for fans of the region looking for goods that can be shipped domestically to Brazilians. Brazil, with its more than 81 million gaming and esports fans, will soon have a dedicated online outlet, in Portuguese, that will enable fans to purchase official Team Liquid gear produced and shipped by local vendors. The launch of this store coincides with “a refreshed webstore design across Team Liquid’s existing global stores.” It opens June 24.
Fortnite will kick off the latest Team Liquid Global line with a collection of “unique patch work garments,” made from upcycled fabric pieces. There will be six custom-created, player-specific illustrations that include fan-favorite Fortnite skins, weapons and fan Easter eggs for Liquid Alixxa, Harmii, Mitr0, Pulga, Scoped and Stretch. Team Liquid has also created a map in Fortnite Creative, with six different sections modeled after the illustrations.
“In 2018, Team Liquid entered Brazil with one competitive team and three support staff” said Mike Milanov, the chief business development officer at Team Liquid, to Sports Business Journal. “These days, we’re up to four teams, five influencers and around 40 support staff, and we’re not done growing. Team Liquid is a top-three gaming brand in Brazil, and our fan experience must match that fandom. With the launch of our Brazilian storefront, we’re leveling up our ecommerce experience in Brazil so it matches our global expectations.”
Items available include Reboot windbreakers, track pants, caps, mousepads, socks and a buffed beanie. However, it will have regional exclusives of certain player-centric designs.
Brazilian fans will have exclusive access to Team Liquid’s Brazilian star Thales “Pulga” Henrique’s Fortnite-inspired T-shirt, shorts, sweatshirt and mousepad.
